Dr. Suzie Muir evaluates students of all ages. Dr. Muir has evaluated more than one thousand children and adults from across the United States and from around the world. Elementary, middle and high school and College, University and graduate students are eligible for evaluation. Dr. Muir’s experience includes teaching at the University (including Colorado State University, The George Washington University and George Mason University) as well as teaching in K-12 settings (both special and regular education in private and public sectors). Research and scholarship have been centered on student achievement and outcomes, data driven instruction, transforming learning, educational reform, technology, special education, disability services and teacher training. Suzie Muir earned her undergraduate degree at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee and her graduate degrees at The George Washington University in Washington, DC. Personally, Dr. Muir has four children, two daughters and two sons. The children are 16, 14, 12 and 10 years old. Dr. Muir offered, “Being a mother has brought the greatest joy. My husband and I have loved this chapter in our life together. Parenting our children has been an incredibly rewarding experience. We are truly grateful for the experience and have been reminded on a daily basis of life’s meaning through the eyes of our children. As a result, my personal world view has been forever changed. My family motivates and influences all that I do, including my work.” Students entering the office will be treated with the same degree of respect that Dr. Muir hopes others will show her own children. In early September 2015, Dr. Muir’s husband, Stephen C. Muir, Jr,. died shortly after being diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. After the initial shock, the experience has provided an opportunity for her to pause and reflect. Never before has helping students realize their potential been as important to Dr. Muir as it has right now. Life, as she has been recently reminded, can become increasingly more complicated. Figuring out strategies to support students academically and improve academic achievement can be life-changing for students struggling with consistency. Dr. Muir believes that the time that we have on this Earth should be available for learning and growing. Not only will a student with an open and willing mind likely be at ease day by day, but in time, that same individual may make a greater contribution to the world. What Dr. Muir can do is to help encourage that for your son or daughter in elementary, secondary, undergraduate or graduate school and on standardized examinations. With compassion, conviction and commitment, Dr. Muir will meet your child where he/she is, help the family understand why learning may be challenged and identify a plan for academic success so that potential is revealed more consistently. References References for Dr. Muir’s services include psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, dentists, pediatricians, nurses, Colleges and Universities, K-12 schools (private and public), school counseling and placement agencies, University placement consultants, occupational and speech therapists, law firms, financial planners, tutors, advocates and coaches. One of the greatest compliments is when a client refers friends and families. Responsive service All emails and calls are returned promptly by Dr. Muir or another on her team.
